Virginie Bernard
Researcher in bioinformatics

Welcome to my Professional Web site.

Since 2010, March, I've been working in the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT) in the Department of Medical Genetics at University of British Colombia (UBC) in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I am a postoctoral fellow in Dr. Wyeth W. Wasserman lab. The goal of my project is to predict regulatory variations involved in human disorders. I predict variation within exons and in regulatory regions. I analyse Next Generation Sequencing data - exome / full-genome - from patients with and without disease.

All the research projects I have been involved in include the analysis of genomic data with bioinformatical and biostatistical methods. I have managed high-throughput data on a variety of projects. I have been involved in the design and implementation of methodologies, as in the supervision of students and management of software developers. I'm involved in several collaborations leading me to be a consultant in exome and genome analysis.

I did a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics in the Plant Genomics Research Unit in Evry, France. Please feel free to view my Ph.D. project page or my Ph.D. defense page for more details.

Please feel free to view more information about my detailed CV as well as my list of publications posters and oral communications.
